Chchchchanges!
Having children changed my life forever – in a good way. I loved my babies so much! But, after they were born, my husband and I had so much more responsibility! For the first time in my life, I put someone else’s wants and needs before mine. Being a mother changed me and I’m glad it did.
Degnan, our son, is 21 now and Paris, our daughter, is 17! As they have grown, we’ve experienced a lot of changes in our household. Paris is a senior in high school and soon it’ll just be my husband and I in the house alone. More changes to come!

I love this post Mrs. Smith. One event that changed my life? Moving to Virginia. I wanted to try something new and I moved away from everyone and everything I knew. It was scary and new, but exciting at the same time. Living so far away from my parents forced me to grow up a lot! Now, I’ve been here for thirteen years and I love my life. I have lots of good friends and a job that I love and I get to have lots of great visits with my family on holidays and vacations.
One event that changed my life, well I have one big event that changed my life. Middle School. In Elementary school, we would stay in the same classroom, walk to lunch in a perfectly straight line, an be silent in the hallways. In middle school, its much different! You can talk when you are in the locker area, you don’t have to be silent in the hallways, I mean, middle school is the exact opposite of Elementary school!
When I first started middle school because everything was different and you would get more freedom and responsibility’s. I was a little scared that I wouldn’t know were to go and get lost and I wouldn’t be able to open my locker. Everything changed and I have gotten used to it by know.
One event that changed my life was moving here from Texas. It was a totally different life style here. I had to adjust to the cold weather which was hard and I had to make a lot of new friends. I have now have an awesome house and a great change from Texas. I may even love it here a little bit more.
One thing that changed my life was my little brother. He always got the attention so it was for me to have my moments. Then my mom couldn’t really help me with my homework because of my little brother.
one event that changed my life was going to sleep away camp. i knew it was going to be hard being away from home and in another state. but i got through it and i got i got through it and loved every minute of it. i got to do stuff i don’t usually get to do like go horse back riding and eat candy bars every night.
One event that changed my life was getting my dog Mario. I have been wanting a dog for as long as I can remember and when I finally got one I realized it took a lot of responsibility. Even though taking care of Mario may be hard it was definitely worth it. And now it’s hard to remember what it was like without Mario.
The event that changed my life would probobaly be: When I switched to lefty when I was in in maybe single A.
I had a big change in my life when both of my cousins were born I wasn’t the youngest on my dads side anymore I was the oldest. Which scared me I was thinking since there was a 2 and 1 year old in the family would I get any attention or would I be a random person with cousins. Luckily nothing changed we all got the same amount of attention no less or more but now that I look at it I am so happy I have Will who is 5 and Ann who is 3. It is so much fun.
One thing that changed my life was when I started doing FLL. Now every Summer and beginning of the school year, I have FLL meetings with my team for eight weeks, then we have a tournament.
One of my biggest changes in my life was when in third grade I moved from Hillside to Mill Run. I had to make all new friends. I already new a few kids and they introduced me to some other kids at Mill Run. I was surprised of how nice everybody was to me when I came. In fourth grade I even met one of my best friends Austin.
One of the main big changes in my life was when my mom gave birth to my twin sisters. In the house I was not the only child any more! Their was more help needed and responsibility. Although I am not really fond of my sisters, I don’t hate them. My sisters gave made me more responsible by making me care for them. They changed who I am, and I really appreciate that.
Something that caused a changed in my life was getting the boot or getting the broken arm. I think it caused a changed in my life because I couldn’t do the things I love most. One thing I couldn’t do was play sports or run. It changed me to not take stuff for granted because not running for about 6 months was painful
Comeing to middle school really changed me and Im really happy that it did because if I were the same person last year in 5th grade then I dont think I would make such good friends like Sydney and Keggan.
When I first stared I was really nevous and I didnt even know that I could have such awsome freinds. I think that this middle school is such a great school and im so thankful that almost evryone here is very sweet and kind to me and thanks for being such great friends! I really love you guys!
one event that changed my life was my very first Star Wars convention!
More, please!
I event that changed me was moving to Ashburn. I was 2 1/2 years old when I moved here. I LOVED IT. Even thought I had missed home I was happy in my new home. I lived here ever since and still love it. I am glad I made this change because I consider Ashburn as a REAL home.
Thinking about my dad moving made me really sad and I thought I wouldn’t be that sad. But I am so I have to enjoy the time I have with him. So, I hope he doesn’t move.
One event that changed my life was middle school, with so much of responsibility I learned that not to always to depend on help and parents,(although I barely did that).I learned that as life goes on, things will just get harder with more responsibility.
Something that really changed my life was when my baby brother Justin was born. This changed my life because it was a whole new experience, I already had a little sister so I new what it was like to be the oldest child and I knew I wouldn’t have as much attention as I used to; but when they brought him home he was nothing like I expected. I had never had a experience with a little brother so it was a little different. I still treated him like a little sister though, me, my sister, and even my mom would paint his toe nails and do his hair with bows or put in headbands. So it was a fun, and I couldn’t have asked for a better little brother.
A change that I’ve had in my life is that my Grandma just moved from Buffalo, NY, to right here in Virginia. I think that this is a good change because she lives alone, and now she will have family near by! We used to take 7-hour road trips to her house, but now its 5 minutes. I hope that I will get to spend more time with her.
One thing that really changed my life in a good way is having a younger brother. Because a lot of kids my age don’t know have to take care of smaller kids. When I was smaller I was NOT responsible at all but now my little brother is 3 and within 3 years I have became very responsible
One event that changed my life was getting an iPod Touch. It was the first multimedia device I acquired.
My parents went through the same phase. Every now and then they tell my sister and I that it was harder when we were babies then it is now.
Great, but what about you?
One thing that changed my life was when i went to my first swim meet(that I swam in)
My Cousin got married in the winter and she was talking about names for kids. But when she actually had a kid she realized how much different it was. And It didn’t hit her till about two minutes later that she was a mom and she started to jump and scream!
Great, but what about you?
One thing that changed my life is when my brother went to college. He left and i was really sad so i tried to get really close with my sisters before they went to college.
The event that changed me the most is when my parent got divorced because no I live in two places. This is the event that changed me the most because now I don’t live with my mom and dad in the same house.
One event that really changed my life was when my little sister was born. That meant that I was now a younger and older brother, and that came with more responsibility. She is know 8, but is sometimes a handful. But it was all worth it because she was one of the cutest babies in the world!
The thing that changed my life is my dog. I always had an empty spot in my heart and once I got my dog it was filled. He is so fun to place with and he always behaves.
I meant play with.
My live change when i was about 5 that was when i got my first baby sister, Reaghan. IT was a big change for me because I was used to having my parents all to my self and that i would always get my way. That all change when reaghan came along i had to share my toys play with her and i didnt get to play with my parents that much. When i was about 7 and reaghan was 4 we both got a big surprise we were getting another baby sister Neave. By now i was used to sharing an everything but reaghan wasn’t so it was a change having 5 people in the house but we got used to it pretty quickly.
A big change in my life was starting tackle football for the first tome. It was and still is a big change because I have to go to practice three times a week, do my homework, have fun, and other things. So I have more responsibilities and I have to manage my time wisely.
One event that changed my life was when my sister left for the navy. I felt really sad and thought she was coming back really soon but 4 years later and shes still in the navy. I`m hoping she will come home this year!
One thing that changed my life was when I came to middle school. I have more responsibilities and jobs. I also have more freedom(lunch).
The thing that has changed my life would probably be coming to middle school here at eagle ridge. Here I learn how to be quicker at things, more responsible, and being able to do more things on my own. It has really helped me at home because I used to always move slow and take my time at things when I am really meant to be rushing and having to hurry in the locker area in order to get to our next class helps me with that. I am also more responsible and able to do things on my own by staying home for 30 minutes during the time my mom is at work and I am waiting for the rite time to leave to school. I seem to be doing a lot better as a person to my parents by helping them out. This has really changed my life!!!
one event that changed my life was when we got my puppy, Mickey. I mean, don’t get my wrong I love dogs, but my schedule is getting all messed up. Mickey’s vet appointments, puppy training, and etc. combined with homework, studies, and sport practices we are always busy. But I bet if my family and I manage our time more than we won’t be as busy.
This year my cousin left for his first year of collage.I normally spend a lot of time with him but know that he is gone I only get to see him the times that he comes home. Now all of my pizza night with my family have changed without having him there. Not only as it changed my life but he has changed a lot too. Now he is super skinny and cut off all his long hair!!:)
One event that changed my life was getting my dog, Dewey. I have had him for almost five years, and he is a HUGE responsibility! I have to take him out everyday, feed him, give him water, I even have to brush his teeth, too. Even though having a dog takes a lot of hard work, I still love it!
one thing that changed my life was when I was little and cracked my head open on a french drain and that helped me learn to become a little more careful.
I can see how that would change your life Mrs Smith. I bet my parents went though that change when i was born along with my brother and sister
One change im going through is hockey. I’m on a team with new people and everyone is trying to get along.
One thing that changed my life, was when my cousin moved to Bethesda, MD from India. Since his parents work in the Indian Embassy, he comes to America, but then goes back. He was only staying for two years, and he just left this July.I hope he comes soon, but since he will stay in India for the next 2 years, and by then he will be going to college,so I won’t be able to see him until he’s done with college.
When I was little, I had everything to myself, I could sleep at night. I was famous in my family. That was until it as summer time I couldn’t wit to go back to school, I played with my toys with my grandma when she put me in the car and we drove for a LONG time, until we reached someplace I didn’t recognize, we walked in went up an elevator and I found myself sitting at the foot of my Mom’s bed with a new baby sister, GREAT! When we took her home I remember saying, ” Can we take her back now?!” After plenty of years of loss of sleep and much more pain I learned a thing or two, I can’t be the one with the fame when theres no one there but when someone does come, THE SPOTLIGHT IS EVERYONE’S!Or just to be simple being a shining star in your own world is a dream but the real world is filled with all of that to, even if you have to share it!
My mom always tells my sister and I that she loved that she had kids. I haven’t really changed, but my hair has gotten longer and I started a lot of new sports, like horseback riding!
What has changed in your life?
Something that changed my life was when I got my dog Griffin. He is a goldendoodle, and probably the cutest one there is. He is one year old, and his birthday is September 10. He has certainly changed my life in a very good, very fluffy, very silly, very happy way.
P.S. Golden retriever+Poodle=Goldendoodle
Your blogs are so good…
It was the day before Christmas, December twenty-fifth, two thousand twelve. My mom told us we were going to pick up our new eight week, Rhodesian Ridge-back puppy. I was so excited! We were going to get her on our way to Maryland, where my Great Aunt lives. It had been around Christmas time and we always go to her house for a Christmas party. Once we picked up our new puppy, who we named Dakota(but we call her Kota.) We got to my great aunts house and let Kota walk around outback. Although she really didn’t do much because she was so little. She curled up in my lap and fell asleep in my lap. Today Kota is one and she is a handful! But she makes me a lot more responsible than i could be. I’m glad Kota came along because i love her to the moon and back:)
A change that happened in my life was when I started dancing so many nights a week. It’s tiring and sometimes I have to get a leotard and tights on right when I get home from school! Other times I stay at the dancing studio from 6-8 or 4:30-7. My schedule changed so much Tuesdays and Wednesdays are my only free day in the week.
One thing that changed my life was when I got two new kittens. Their names are Max and Rocky. I just got them last December and they are a huge handful. Before this I only had one cat and he was very calm, But it is so different now.
1 thing that changed my life was when my dad had to leave for Iraq. This lasted for 4 years before he could finally come home for good. He would visit every 4-6 months and would stay for about a month. We would play all sorts of games until he had to leave. After about 4 years the special day came. I was in my room finishing my homework, and there was a noise at the door. At first I thought it was my mom coming home early, but then I heard my dad’s voice and I was overjoyed. He came home early and was home for good. THE END
A life event that caused a change in me was when I turned 10 because I saw how my parents treated me with so much affection and love so I decided to treat them that way too. I also saw how much money my parents spent for me every day. From all this this, I changed by learning not to waste money and give back what I took from my parents.
Something that changed my life is when I moved. I had to leave my friends and neighbors and go to a different neighborhood. I couldn’t knock on their doors anymore to see if they were home. At first it was sad to move but then I got used to my new house.I don’t get to see my old neighbors as much. That is something that changed my life.
When my sister was born it wasn’t ball about me any more because you have to change a bays diaper and feed it but I thought it was great having a little sister. In till now!!!
Love the post! Something that has changed me is a move from PA to VA. I moved around 4 years ago but I still miss my friends now. I get to see them once a year but I wish I could see them more often. However the move helped me to deal with my feelings better.
A moment that change my life (in a good way) was going to middle school. At first I have to admit i was a bit nervous that I would be going to a new school and be separated from my friends. But when I started school it was awesome and I love middle school
Something that changed my life was when my aunt moved to Aushburn and then my uncle did. I get to see them a lot more often than I used to. Also, we don’t have to make a big plan we just invite them to come to the the park. Another reason is that i get to see my cousins often. I love seeing them so much and I know i’m lucky that i get to. This changed my life in a great way!
My parents always say they dont want me and my brother to grow up. They say we dont want to grow up ether because we will have more responsibility and we will have more work. From the pictures in this blog, it looks like they like horse-back ridding. I like horse-back ridding too! But once you have both kids move out, i bet u will enjoy the quite sometimes.
Thanks, Olivia! Now respond to my question. What about changes in your life?
one big change was coming to middle school, more responsibility and more homework that i have to make time for after school.
One event that changed my life was that I had to move to America from the Philippines. I was so nervous and scared because first I didn’t know how to speak English second I had to make new friends and I was super nervous about that, but my parents hired a tutor to help me speak English and I was only 6 when I came to America.
A event that changed my life was when my nana and grandpa moved to Maryland. My grandparents moved to Maryland from Florida. It was a big change because I used to see them only once or twice a year. Now I get to see them a lot more. This was a big change and it was a good one.
I used to live in the U.S. Army Base in Seoul,Korea with my family and old friends. But since my mom is a diplomat, we have to move… its is sad to say good bye but its also exciting to say hello to new friends in life.
My Life changed as I moved from Pakistan to here It was a big difference for me.
What change my life is that I got a new baby cousin! Her name is Jacqueline. On my mom’s side of the family I am the oldest kid so I am the one usually taking care of my younger cousins. My cousin Steven, Vincent, and Jason help me take care of her. Yesterday I got to go to Jacqueline’s house and play with her and her sister Leslie! 🙂 🙂 🙂
My life’s biggest change was moving from Ohio to here. The two places are so much different! In Ohio I lived less then a minute away from Columbus, Ohio! We also lived in the center of the state, now I live on the top of the state, or the northern end. I had made some good friends up their but moving here at the age of three made it a little hard to make friends. Then I met some of my close friends now like Alex K. Julian B. and Sam G.
One thing that has changed for me was last year I got arianna my baby sister and it was a lot of work for me and my family I have to feed her and take care of her when my mom is out or not feeling good. Another change was when my grandma and grandpa moved to Texas last Year. It was very sad.I didn’t even get to say goodbye when she left cause i was at sleep away camp. They got to Texas safely and sent me letters saying were fine and safe. A Lot of changes has been going on in my family the past two years. I miss my grandpa and grandma a lot, but two days ago i got a phone so i can call them now. Also i am happy to have a new child in my family.
Whats it like taking care of kids is it hard or is it easy. was it easy taking them to school? Is it fun to play with your kids?
I really like this blog post it was enjoyable to read
You’re supposed to talk about a change in your life.

It was really cool because I had many more responsibility’s in my life.I was the first child to get to hold him.It kinda sucks that im the middle child. I am the The day that he was born it was the longest day of my life. But I will always love him.

What about changes you’ve experienced?
One of my changes is when i lost my grandpa from a stroke last year. It was scary because he knew how to manage all of the money but we were lucky because he taught my mom how to do it before he died
I’m sorry about the loss of your grandfather. Changes like losing loved ones are the hardest ones we have to deal with in life, aren’t they?
