I thought that the video was very touching. That football player showed his true colors by being himself and wanting to read. Most people think that football players don’t like to read or aren’t smart, but they are as smart as everybody else if they want to be. Malcolm just wanted to read so he joined a book club with about 10 or 15 ladies. He was happy and that’s all that really matters.
I thought this video was really cool because you would never think of football player being like that. You usually judge a football player like “oh they’re always practicing” or “oh they’re always working out” in this case, not so much. This is all about judging a book by it’s cover. When I was in first grade, I was in the play Annie. I had never done plays before and mom told me that there was a spot open. At first I wasn’t sure, but now i’m glad I did.It was a really fun experience.
Malcolm is not worried about how other people think about him, and that is a good quality. He is proud of himself for achieving a new goal that is different from football. Malcolm is an inspiration to many others because he learned to be able to come out of his comfort zone and do other things. Malcolm didn’t care that he was with people 40 years older than him, he just wanted to try something new. When Malcolm was called a nerd he didn’t take it as a hurtful remark, he took it as a compliment, and that shows a great spirit.
