I thought it was a very deep quote because in the One and Only Ivan, Ivan, the main character is trapped in a mall but wants to be free. He tries to remember his past when he was in the jungle but he can barely remembers anymore. He can remember his friends in the mall though, and dog and then a elephant and when a little elephant comes along the man who own them has no more money and has to give them up. They get to go the zoo and be more free than they ever were before.
I think that memories tell us who we are because if we had alot of good memories we have alot of stuff to look back on. If we didnt have alot of memories we wouldnt have alot to look back on and stuff to remember. Alot who dont have memories are usually mean people. They also tell us who we are because we would probably be doing something we like.
i think it is true because things you know about yourself has to have a story beind it and there is a story behind everything.

I’d have to say I agree. Some memories, you just wish you could forget. But you learn from them, they make you a better person. They make you. Some memories you love, you want to keep them forever, keep living in that moment forever. That tells you the sort of thing you love. The things you want to keep around. Without the memory of that day my friend and I had a water war, we wouldn’t feel as close, we wouldn’t be as close. Memories give you depth, and they give you something to look back on, to remember, to cherish. They give you feeling, they give you depth, they make you, you.
I like the quote, I also thinks it’s true because you should remember and want to remember those good memories that you’ve had. Also if you only think of the bad memories then people will think you only think about the negative side. But if you remember the good memories people will know you always think positive.
This quote is very good because it explains kind of who you are through memories. Memories like parties and birthdays are really good memories that you should treasure forever in your mind. But, memories like your grandma dying or watching your fish get killed by something are bad, cruel memories that you should throw away in your mind and never remember. You should never talk about the bad memories and always talk about the good ones!

I agree with this quote. It’s because of memories that we know who we are, without then we would not know anything about ourselves. You would not feel happiness because you would not know what pain, sorrow, and loss are. You would not remember family and friends, anything that we have done like going on a vacation or having delicious food. It is memories that define who we are.

Memories are precious, yes they are if we did not have memories who would we be. They help us tell who we are like i said above who would know who we were with out them, they are your memories your LIFE. From the time you were born to the time you die your life is filled with memories. You couldn’t really tell who you would be with memories, you really couldn’t you wouldn’t know if you did something bad or something Amazing. Maybe yesterday you won an award for kindness, or you went to the principal’s office because you messed up. Each and every one of those are memories, you create memories every single day. So yesterday what did i do i went to my sisters volleyball banquet. Now that was a memory to keep and cherish not only for me but my whole family especially my sister. We all enjoyed watching her play throughout the season and grow with her skills. You see memories affect other people it could be a positive effect or a negative affect. So keep even the littlest memories because you never know maybe one day those precious memories will tell who you are.

First of all, I love this quote. This quote is so true. Memories help us know who we are. If we didn’t have memories, I don’t think we would know even who we are. I think it means that all the memories we’ve had either with our friends, family members, or just by yourself can tell you who you are. Memories are just AMAZING.They can change your LIFE. I know that all if my memories are precious to me. Even the biggest and the smallest memories can change who you are and who you become. I will give you an example. Let’s say that yesterday you went to your brothers basketball game. While you were there, you met a friend. Maybe you became best friends. That could change who you are. I love memories.

I agree with Katherine Applegate, I think that our past helps define who we are. I would never do something that I didn’t want other people to think about me. I think that memories can help us when we are sad, because we could think back on the happy days in our life. Also when we look back on the fun things we have done in life, we feel like we can do anything.
Memories are very precious. They do help tell us who we are. I agree with this quote very much. When I think memories I think going to the mall with my friends and having a great time, or having the best sleepover party. When I see my friends I have so much memories from the past, like texting, Instagram, and elementary school, we had so much fun together. Memories mean something special, they just stick inside your head forever. Thats how its supposed to be when you have fun times with someone. When I think of memories there good things that happened to me.
I like this quote a lot, because it really is true. Think of yourself without any memory, no information about where you came from or the happy and sad moments of your life. I wouldn’t be able to imagine if my mom or dad, friends, and everyone I knew would suddenly be no one at all to me. Memory really is precious, at least to me it is. This quote also gets me thinking of Jason from the first book from Heroes of Olympus series; the Lost Hero. In the beginning, Jason’s memory is wiped and he doesn’t know his girlfriend Piper’s name, his coach’s name, and his friend’s name, so life just got a lot harder for him. I also realized something else when I read this; how lucky I am. When you have a history, remember the history; don’t push it away.
I think that what the author is trying to say is without memories you wouldn’t know who you are. Without your memories you wouldn’t remember how you dress.Like if you wore the same sweatshirt everyday with green converse and you forgot you wore that so you suddenly started wearing a blue shirt with white sandals.Then people would forget who you were. Or you started acting different. People might think that you are a different person if you didn’t have any memories. Then you would forget who you are.That would be bad. All in all I think it’s a really good quote.
It means that if you have memories like a teddy bear it says that you had a teddy bear and if you had a millions of cars, and trucks it means that you like cars and trucks. If you trashed all of your old belongings that are your memories then you don’t know what you liked in the past or didn’t have.
I think that is also true because your past tells us who we were and helps us figure out if your going to be that old person you were back then or someone new.
Memories are precious, if we look back on them then we figure out who we are. If we show someone our memories then they sometimes know who we are.
Memories are precious, they help you remember the past, and can tell a lot about you. Those who have diaries, those are all memories. So don’t forget them.
I think that this statement is right because memories really do make up who you are in a way. Memories really make up your life. Because without memories, life really isn’t anything. And memories are really what you do in life because you have memories of who you are and who other people are. Other people will also have memories of you. Those memories are of who you are to other people. Even people who have been mean to you will have memories of you. But what’s important is that memories can find a place in your heart.

I think this quote is true. If you have memories of bad things and useless things you will be a bad person. People who have good memories and congratulate themselves on good things that they did have good hearts. Your memories shape your life, your actions and thoughts. You can choose what you want to remember. Just make the right choice.
